Sarah Vowell has family problems but who doesn’t now days.  Her family is very religious to the Christianity faith they follow the strict rules of the bible. While her sibling isn’t the most obedient child of the family she is still taken to mass. In her story she describes her sister as little brat fidgeting about everything kicking the seats and crying out loud. As a little child I was told to follow the catholic faith which isn’t that different of Christian faith.

I learned about god and Jesus was told that god loves us and to follow him to the extent that we see him as our father figure. For a while every child follows the faith until they see other points of view. The author also followed her faith as child till one sees what their faith is. But her family does get some motivation that connects them during their mass. In her childhood she had minor flaws that made her have dreams at a young age that made her think of Armageddon. In her dream all the mother s of her town left during Armageddon. She viewed her mother as a Virgin Mary which depicts her mother as the ideal woman to see.

She was so pure which is the foundation of the family. She represents the good in the world that most people want to see.  I also see my mother as righteous person always does the right thing. Even when times go bad she is strong and picks up the family to continue on. Sarah Vowell shows me to value my parents and to cherish my mother for all good she does for us.  Not many people get the chance to see their mothers or even have one. So it really makes one think what we take for granted in our lives.
